One may be risk loving yet completely averse to ruin. The central asymmetry of life is: In a strategy that entails ruin, benefits never offset risks of ruin.
If you incur a tiny probability of ruin as a "one-off" risk, survive it, then do it again (another "one-off" deal), you will eventually go bust with probability 1 (read: 100% probability)[1]

Do optimized routines stifle passion?
As someone who isn't engaging in primary creative pursuits, I often wonder if my inclination towards efficiency prevents me from creating something I would be extremely proud of.
In any case, this site itself is a passion project borne out of my realisation to finally have something of my own (and yes, I know it is just a small list of a few things I read here and there.)
